Bowed or leaning foundation walls can cause serious structural damage if not corrected. This problem occurs when hydrostatic pressure from excessive water, or the soil surrounding the structure swells and exert pressure forcing the foundation wall inward.
There are a number of methods to repair a bowed or leaning wall. The structure and the conditions will dictate many times what solutions will work the best. Some work better than others.
We carry wall plate anchors that many foundation repair companies use.
Our experience has shown us for our soil conditions they don't work as well as helical anchors.
In fact these anchors require the homeowner to adjust and tighten after installation.
We don't believe this is providing a permenant solution to bowed walls and therefore will rarely recommend those.
We are an authorized dealer for THE REINFORCER® carbon fiber repair plate system.
When THE REINFORCER® is applied to basement foundation walls, it counteracts further outside pressure on the wall, taking the tension force (or tensile load) that the wall cannot. For every increase in pressure on the wall, THE REINFORCER® supplies an equal and opposite resistant force making the wall stronger.
It helps eliminate expanding, shifting, cracking, and bowing basement walls by using carbon fiber to repair the walls.
Helical Wall Anchors
Many times a wall is too far gone, the wall is leaning inward too far, or too damaged to use less expensive repair methods. In these situations we are able to provide a solution using helical wall anchors.
Helical wall anchors which are machine drilled past the active zone of moving earth at an engineered angle.
The structure is then gently lifted and monitored as the the wall is stablized or restored back to it's original position.
We can also address the footing drain issues that may have been the cause of the issue at the same time.
